YOUR RABBI FOR SACRAMENTO-AREA FUNERALS AND MEMORIALS

Losing someone you love is disorienting. In the midst of grief, there are decisions to make and a service to plan—often on a short timeline.

As a rabbi providing funeral and memorial services in Sacramento, I help guide families through this process with care, clarity, and respect for both tradition and the life being honored.

Whether your family is deeply connected to Jewish practice or only loosely affiliated, I will meet you where you are and help create a service that feels meaningful, grounded, and true.

My Approach

A Jewish funeral is not only about honoring the person who has died. It is also about supporting the living.

I work closely with families to:

  • Understand who your loved one truly was

  • Craft words that reflect their story and values

  • Balance tradition with what feels right for your family

My goal is to create a service that is both authentically Jewish and deeply personal.

Some families I work with are interfaith, less formally affiliated, or looking for a more personalized service. You can learn more about my work as an interfaith funeral officiant or about creating a celebration of life service.

For Families of All Backgrounds

Some families I work with are fully engaged in Jewish life. Others are interfaith, unaffiliated, or unsure what they want.

All are welcome.

If you are looking for a more personalized or interfaith approach, you can also learn about my work as an interfaith funeral officiant.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

My complete funeral package includes the following:

  • Immediate meeting with family members to learn about the life of the deceased to write and deliver a meaningful eulogy.

  • Working with family to craft a meaningful Jewish funeral ceremony, that includes some or all of the traditional Jewish funeral.

  • Assisting family members to offer their own eulogies, reading, and poems at the ceremony.

  • Coordinating with the funeral home to ensure that Jewish rituals and law are followed.

  • Travel to the cemetery to officiate the service and deliver a moving eulogy.

  • Providing support for gravestone design and Hebrew lettering.

Additional support is available for shiva, unveiling, and memorial services is also available, if desired.

If you’re not sure what kind of service you need, that’s completely okay. Some families are looking for a traditional Jewish funeral, while others prefer something more flexible or personalized. You don’t need to have all the answers right now.

Some families are looking for a traditional Jewish funeral, while others are exploring something more personalized or interfaith. I’m happy to help you think through what feels right.
